"The hedonistic frenzy of the Jazz Age can still be experienced today in high style at The Salon..." NY Times
PROHIBITION PRODUCTIONS is the largest independent producer & promoter of vintage inspired Hot Jazz & Swing Dance Events in NYC, averaging over 250 events per year - all with live music.
At the forefront of this "Retro Nouveau" scene, PROHIBITION PRODUCTIONS produces numerous special ticketed events annually, as well as unique weekly and monthly "no-cover" events with discerning venues to help promote and drive sales.
Leveraging our experience as a scene leader, we also operate a specialized International Booking & Management Agency for swing bands with a dedicated record label, private recording studio & media production. From hundreds, we've selected an exclusive and diverse roster of performers that are among the most in demand bands in the genre.
PROHIBITION PRODUCTIONS is instigated by composer and drummer Patrick Soluri, and originally founded in 2001 while throwing jazz based house parties in his apartment called "The Salon" - shortly after getting hooked on swing dancing. Eventually they outgrew his apartment, and in 2006 produced his first public event at a venue, which promptly sold out. Since then the events grew from a hobby to a business.
