Dance Contests

at INTREPID: Battle of the Big Bands 2017

STRICTLY COUPLE COMPETITION
Entrance Fee: $10/couple
Description: Partner required. Music for prelims will be selected by competition DJ. Finalists will perform to live music on the Flight Deck. Couple dancing is improvised, but dancers are permitted to use prepared choreography and aerial sequences.

SCHEDULE
9:00 PRELIMS Competitors will dance to DJed music
10:25 FINALS Couples will be selected to compete to live music in a spotlights-style jam
10:50 Competition results announced  
12:15am Pro-Jam dance circle: Intrepid Swing Dance Brigade, Bathtub Ginny's, and winners of the team competition!

LINDY HOP TEAM COMPETITION
Entrance Fee: $50/team
Requirements: Teams consist of 3 or more dancers. Competitors will select their own music and submit to the competition DJ one week ahead of the event. Routines must be a minimum of two minutes and a maximum of four minutes in length. A maximum of 6 teams at permitted to sign up. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED

Winner of the Team Competition will perform their routine at Midsummer Night Swing on July 4, 2017!
